New CD!

In its second full length recording, Crown Aruba has delivered its own brand of pop that embraces a world of tensions – shotguns and flowers, expectations and regrets, boys and girls, cats and dogs… Like Jonathan Richman channeling the Velvet Underground, or Polvo channeling 80s art-rock, Crown Aruba digests its influences only to produce a sound of its own that is both familiar and original. The band's two guitars are alternatively melodic and jarring, tugging songs in surprising directions, while the bass paves a steady path for drums that are all too happy to dance outside of it. The songs are compact, never dwelling on a particular theme longer than required. The playful feel of many of the songs masks more ambiguous imagery of a complicated world.
